Poul Kjærholm designed the PK80™ daybed as part of his ongoing effort to unite the sublime with the absolutely necessary. The result is one of Kjærholm’s mos Poul Kjaerholm designed the PK80 Daybed in 1957 and is widely considered as one of his most sophisticated works of this period. Drawing inspiration from Bauhaus, which in turn, were inspired by ancient Roman couches. Poul Kjærholm (1929-1980) was a leading figure in Danish furniture and one of the most important furniture designers of the XNUMXth century. Originally trained as a cabinetmaker, he studied at the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts, where he developed a vision of modern furniture, combining artisan techniques with industrial production.
